As with any plastic, it will show cut marks; however, that does not impact the functionality of easy cutting or carving. Additionally, by "accepting" cuts into the surface, it actually helps maintain the sharpness of the knives compared to much harder surfaces, such as granite. Made In the USA.
- PLASTIC vs. WOOD: The primary benefit of a plastic cutting board versus a wooden board is that the juices can not seep into the plastic. Juices can seep into a wood board or stay trapped in the "cuts." As a result wooden boards can end up being less sanitary even if they are washed with soap (In many cases, they don't recommend washing a wood cutting board with soap). Since no liquid can seep into the plastic, and it can easily be washed with soap and warm water or put in a dishwasher, ensuring it will be more sanitary.
